Connect your Telegram group to track engagement

Add the Bot to Your Group

First, add our Telegram bot to your group chat.

How to add:

  1. 1.Open your Telegram group
  2. 2.Go to Group Settings → Add Members
  3. 3.Search for @GuildMetricBot
  4. 4.Add the bot to your group

Make the Bot an Admin

The bot needs admin permissions to read messages and track activity.

Required Permissions:

  • Read Messages
  • Send Messages
  • Delete Messages (optional, for moderation)

Important: If you have a supergroup, make sure the bot is added as an admin with "Read Messages" permission enabled.

Get Your Group ID

Send the command below in your group to get its unique ID:

/groupid

The bot will reply with your group ID, which looks like: -1001234567890

Link to Your Community

Now connect your Telegram group to your GuildMetric community:

  1. aGo to your community's Settings page
  2. bFind the Connections section
  3. cClick Connect next to Telegram
  4. dPaste your Group ID and click Connect

If you're having trouble setting up the Telegram bot, make sure:

  • • The bot is added to your group
  • • The bot has admin permissions
  • • You're using the correct Group ID (starts with -)
